Meet The Team

Madeleine Chin is a freshman, 2-time published novelist who is passionate about writing meaningful stories, helping underserved students access books, and highlighting AAPI diversity in literature. She is the recipient of a Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Key, Citation from Congressman Suozzi, President’s Volunteer Service Award, and she's a Youth Co-Leader of Nickelodeon Our World. In her free time, she writes her third novel and pets her cat.

Lilian Li is a freshman and loves creating digital media and bringing people together through books. She enjoys writing, watching movies & logging them on letterboxd, live theater, and listening to music. Lilian is excited to contribute to Mindful Reading, and is looking forward to working and collaborating with everyone else! 

Gabrielle Wang is 14 years old and passionate about bringing people together and creating fun moments where everyone can feel welcome and involved. Outside of Mindful Reading, she enjoys playing volleyball and singing. She is excited to meet new people and find ways to make the community more connected. Gabby is looking forward to this new role and can't wait to help make this year's events special!

Ella Deng is fourteen and a freshman in high school. She is thrilled to be a community outreach director for Mindful Reading since reading is such a huge part of her life. Some of her hobbies include reading, drawing, painting, and crocheting. She truly appreciates the opportunity to spread the joy of reading amongst the community and is so excited for what's to come in the future!
